The direct beneficiaries of this project were 540 flood and drought affected households. Apart from the long-term drought and conflict, the beneficiaries were adversely affected by flash floods that have recently struck them and their property causing them to flee from their homes and join IDPs already settled in Garasbaley area in Banadir region. The selection of the beneficiaries was based on their vulnerability and humanitarian fragile situation. Local authority and elders were approached to help select the most appropriate people to the project. After selection, the beneficiaries received cow meat shares slaughtered on the Eid-Al-Adha day. The distribution of the cow meat shares has given the beneficiaries nutrition and enabled them to enjoy a meal that they rarely get access to (which is meat) due their weak purchasing power and the high cost of meat at local markets which only the rich can afford to buy.
